The Protector S2: Huge Letdown!!!!
Netflix creative has failed the viewers. The scripting for the second season is a massive fail. Character development and plot development are really nonexistent and borderline ridiculous. The season felt like an amateurish attempt at correcting a mistake made in the first few episodes and it's still a failure at that.
Netflix choosing to stick to an emotionally invested tv show rather than transition into a full blown superhero show was stupid at the very best. We had every ingredient from the season finale of the first season to make season 2 into a high octane affair, but this second season is everything but! It's poorly scripted, the conflict is too simple and easily Predictable, the characters (most especially the Immortals). Were poorly developed and the fight scenes became poor, near nonexistent and utterly devoid of entertainment.
Why the Immortals took different stances upon being revived is also unexplained, perhaps that's by virtue of a lack of back story for each of them. Their motivations are virtually unexplained and thus their every moves in season 2 were detached from the show's other characters and the viewers just didn't connect with the villainy on display. Ruya and Mergen were so strange as character that viewers could only see what they were doing but could not connect with their motivations, aims or objectives. I have never seen any show so ridiculously botched as this one. If ever there was a need for proper character development, this was it and the show runners failed abysmally.
Then there was the poorly introduced issue of Levent. From his introduction till the end of the season, it was obvious that he was not what he proclaimed to be. He was always a bad character type and it was easy to read. The fact that the heroes fell victim of his play not once but twice is incredibly stupid scripting and stupidity at its highest.
Then the issue of the needlessly senseless deaths. Four Immortals dead, more than double the number of Loyal Ones dead too. What could be more ridiculous than killing off 4 Immortals in a single season? And killing off Layla, Zeynep, Can, Azra etc... the characters who held up the fabrics of the show and who helped the Protector make a stand at every turn in the series. Now the show that had a really low character count, has an even lower character count as it stands now. If this keeps getting lower, then the show is going to be not even worth the hassle soon.

Perhaps the only positive we have from the second season is the shadowy presence of a 7th Immortal who has yet to make an appearance, but who has consistently affected the structure of the second season from the shadows. We hope that creative does not botch his character so badly that we lose interest in the show entirely.
We at FCA will however recommend an abstinence from this show at least pending when the 3rd season airs, and it's storyline and financial successes.
