Deadly class

Based on the graphic novel of the same name comes an unlikely coming-of-age story set against the backdrop of unsanitized 1980s counterculture. A homeless, disillusioned teen named Marcus is recruited into Kings Dominion, a secret academy for the Deadly Arts, where he struggles to find his place among a community of the deadliest characters in the world -- literally fighting every day for survival. It is in this struggle he tries to find purpose and family in an unlikely group of outcast misfits who plan to use their skills to really change the world for the better... by breaking every rule there is.
This is a coming of age story unlike anything else you ever seen. Syfy really just hit a gold mine with this one and they are risking it all.

The show is one of those shows that will divide opinions ,it's either you really love the show or you call it a creative mess without a laid out plan. I happen to fall among the first group who has very been caught up in the show and it's been a great experience.

Lets start with the plot, very few shows I have seen come with such a creative mess as a plot. And it's been a joy watching the creative mess take shape and develop into a great plot so far, obviously there has been some hits and misses as the creative mess is being spun into a web of a great storyline with intricate plot and sub plots which serve to highlight the intricacy of the show as a whole.
One of the things that is very likeable is the pace at which the plot is being developed and characters which are not important are killed off and forgotten ,and in some cases the characters are killed to push forward a new idea and assist with the overall theme of the show.

Now that brings us to the theme of the show, it's a dark themed show but also very gruesome especially the death and actions sequences in the show. The flashbacks are especially brilliant, the carton black and white themed flash backs are brilliant contrasted with the blood sure to flow in the said flash back.

Moving on to the fight scenes which so far has been choreographed brilliantly, all the actions are well synchronised and even when there are a lot of individual battles going on in one scene it is still done brilliantly and does not look at all scattered or just a mess rather it is looks very well coordinated and brilliantly captured making it easy to follow exactky all the actions as they are happening simultaneously .

The cast of the show, this is normally one area I always fault Syfy series because a lot of times they get their casting all wrong and once this is done then that show is doa(dead on arrival) .
Benjamin wadsworth as Marcus has been great, so far seven episodes in and it's been a great portrayal of the character, he really gets into this said role  it's so personal with him and so it seems effortless watching him struggle with the character he is becoming . Also Lana condor as saya has also been brilliant. Overall it's been a good showing by the cast of the show, we hope it's this way till the end of the first season.

Well I am a huge fan of songs and the sound tracks and back ground songs so far has been a hit back to back, I can't even pick a favorite so far, all the rock songs has been a blast and it's refreshing getting rock themed songs rather than the normal songs we are used to in most shows.

Thumbs up to the directors for taking the risk witj this show it's really looking like it will pay off.

On a negative though there has-been like two missed episodes that cant be explained like what exactly they served and also the story can be a bit confusing especially when it's not being told from the point of view of Marcus.

This is a Syfy original series, produced by John G. Lenic and Albert J Kim.

Cast
Benjamin Wadsworth
Lana condor
Benedict wong
Siobhan Williams

From us here at fca it's a solid 7/10 and we recommend the show if you not already watching it.
