Ladies and Gents, we've got ourselves a full-on action packed one. This right here is an all-out guns blazing, bombs blasting, cars crashing stuff and to cap it all off, we've also got some serious hand-to-hand combat; some judo, jujitsu or some shii... like that. Once more I give you
SECURITY (2017).
Its from last year, I know I know, but it's still an okay one though. with Antonio Banderas as "Eddie" in good shape. Okay people, here's a recap:
An ex-special services veteran (Antonio Banderas), down on his luck and desperate for work, takes a job as a security guard at a run-down mall in a rough area of town. He is introduced to the motley crew of security guards (Liam McIntyre, Gabriella Wright, Chad Lindberg, Jiro Wang). On his first night on the job, he opens the doors up to a distraught and desperate young girl Jamie (Katherine de la Rocha) who has escaped and fled from a hijacking of the Police motorcade that was transporting her to testify as a trial witness in a briefcase. Hot on her heels is psychopathic hijacker (Ben Kingsley), alongside his resourceful henchmen, who will stop at nothing to extract and eliminate their witness.
So all in all, it boiled down to five unarmed security guards against really heavily armed and crazy Mercs (at the very least they could ve tried to make it a little more plausible, but Hey! That's what movies are about right? Helping you forget your worries at the moment).
Okay then, rating time!
The Plot; it's pretty straightforward, prevent the bad guys from getting the kid at all cost. No twists or turns in its unraveling(except where the mercs dreesed up as feds, still predictable though). It's unoriginal at best; hence the opening caption "Die Hard" in a mall, pointing to it's lacking in originality.
Cast; a few good ones, nothing too tricky about the roles they were to play as most were just "stand, move and shoot". Eddie( A B ) and Charley (Ben Kingsley) were good as expected, though some critics call this movie a "side bar" in both their careers.
Scenes:. What I loved the most was the hand-to-hand combat btw Eddie and "Dead Eyes" (Cung Le) and the Smackdown that was thrown in, so cool.
Duration: 1hr 32mins
Director: Alain Desrochers.
I would give it a 6/10, wasn't a complete waste of time. It's an action movie so it really is action packed.
