MY FLATMATES

My flatmates: A hit show or a regular sitcom?

My Flatmates is a situational comedy that documents the lives of four(4) friends who share an apartment. The show chronicles their daily lives as they go about their daily escapades in pursuit of a better life for themselves. The show presents everything hilarious and chaotic they engage in, whilst also introducing us sometimes to new funny and hilarious characters.
The show features the likes of Bright Okpocha, Okay Bakassi, Steve Onu, Emmanuel Ikubese and Buchi the comedian. This is a great ensemble, perhaps that's why the tvshow is so great? The show may in terms of storyline be borderline cliché, however the delivery of the idea is stunning. These are actors whose lives and source of livelihoods revolve around comedy, no wonder they can keep the audience laughing all through an episode we may agree has been over flogged by prior tvshows.
The acting, the dialogues and the visuals are all just stunning. Lets talk about acting and delivery of ideas, Nigeria is a country with great content, but most often than not we are put off by the delivery of the idea, most times it becomes boring and borderline disgusting ( we won't name names).
Now make we even switch off for a while, the characters weh go probably vex you small for the show na Titus and Prosper, some episodes of the show that chronicles their activities may bore you and not interest you, most especially when Oga landlord come join mouth for the matter. But anyhow weh u see am, even these three people, on a good day weh better content and idea dey to deliver ,them fit make u laugh throughout the entire episode o.
One other reason weh I fit talk say make everybody try to watch this series na say, these guys, their facial expressions dey spot on, it is so very unlike ur average Nigerian Tvshow where the actor does not even know when to frown, scream or just be passive. Basket mouth himself na like human emoji, just him face fit dn already dey make me laugh.
All in all, a tvshow that borders on the everyday cliché of a hustler(s), perhaps it's because it's cliché that it is so good?  I believe in an industry that is flooded with so much comedy shows, all seemingly not deviating from a set narrative, I think it's a very great achievement for this one show to receive this much attention and positive reaction.
It's definitely the type of direction the Nigerian Movie industry should head towards, effective management and production and excellent acting, and you bet, a story that you know so very well will be told in astonishing fashion.
We owe the production team and the cast a debt of gratitude for putting so much ginger and swagger for something weh we dn believe say e dn dey die for our movie industry.
The comedy genre recieves a huge boost.

 FCA's AppR: 7/10
