A NETFLIX BLUNDER, FINALLY!!

The Hollow: a story of what could have been?
The Hollow, a story of adventures, mysteries and the unknown. Three Teenagers; Mira, Kai and Adam wake up in a strange room,  with no memories of who they are or how they got there. That invariably sets them on an adventure of discovery and a quest to  discover who they are while also carving a path home! Do they have a home? How will they recognise home if they saw it? And who is that weird guy who always pops up out of nowhere to their aide?
The show premiered with Netflix releasing all 10 episodes of the show on 8th June 2018. Perhaps in the long run this may seem like a perfect marketing strategy considering the following:
Firstly let's go for the story. The story plot seemed too cliché, nothing out of the ordinary. The first episode may have presented a challenge and a mystic aspect to the show, but subsequent episodes where just bland, no highs, no lows. Everything was just presented at absolutely baseline presentation. At some point we felt there was no need to the show, the whole mystic element was solved or rather revealed even before we got to the half way stage of the show. So then, what are we still watching the show for, that's what you will be asking yourself.
Secondly, everything seemed to be rushed. The fact that it is an animated series does not give  anyone the leeway to rush and botch the show. This is the point where I say that releasing the entire season at a go was a bad move? Yes it was. Perhaps if production was carried out in piecemeal along with the weekly release of the episodes, the creators may have had time to salvage a show that could have been worth more than it got.
Further, the show was produced with probably no consideration for continuity at all. This brings us to the end of the tvshow, Okay it has ended, yet you want to throw in an element that would make it seem as though there was more to come? I honestly doubt if from the way we ran through season one ,anyone will be interested in a second season for this show.
To finally conclude, we sincerely believe that the show has been botched beyond salvation. Even the attempt at throwing in a surprise element midway through the show was nothing but a feeble attempt at Redemption. For the first time in a long while, we feel that Netflix has gotten it all wrong. The story plot is filled with plot holes, the delivery of ideas and presentation of characters was slow, bland and shallow. The character development was absolutely nonexistent. We continued seeing characters coming upon powers and abilities without explanations. Did I tell you the game plot element could have been delayed a little bit more? In fact why reveal it when you could keep us mystified and interested for two more seasons? I bet even Mario presented more of a challenge as a game than the Hollow, no?
All in all, a show which may have had good prospects if it were handled well, a show without an exceptional story plot, and a show with absolutely no character we can relate to. We can Chalke this one down to creative poverty or administrative and production ineptitude? Or laxity on the part of Netflix so to say?
For a company we have all come to respect over the past years, this is an absolute travesty.
I wouldn't recommend this show to anyone who has use for their data or time, but I may however put it out there for those of our viewers who are bored and have absolutely nothing better to watch or do with their time!
