Lucifer season 4

Lucifer morning star the former fallen angel who's the ruler of hell gets tired of his boring and dark life down in hell and decides to relocate to earth for a little holiday, he moves to Los Angeles  and once there he indulges in his favorite past times which are parties, drugs and women also he gets to work in the LPDA as a partner for the detective Chloe decker ,this is the plot of the show in its entirety but talking about the fourth season, after the conclusion of the third season and Chloe finally seeing who Lucifer is, this season is about the fallout from that episode and the events that single episode leads to, how the characters deal with their various griefs and issues, Chloe sorting out her feelings for Lucifer morning star and the role eve the original woman has to play in it.

 First let me start by saying a big thank you to Netflix for picking up this season of the show after it was cancelled by fox and that is still one of the biggest head scratching decisions when it was made but recent events after then has shed more light on why fox had to cancel the show, I won't go into all the details because it's totally not necessary for this review but simply put, Lucifer is a show that the rights is owned by dc/warner Bros and fox is owned by marvel now so it just would not have worked but that aside fox has a habit of cancelling great shows while renewing some useless ones.
And for all those who doubt the power of fans online petition just look at what got Netflix to take up this season and they have not regretted it.

Well Netflix style the whole season was released at once and I keep saying it that is the way to go and not this unnecessary delay in releasing episodes weekly which honestly Is annoying and really frustrating.
 So having seen the fourth season I really can say this is the best season so far and it was great watching this season, am not sure there was any flaw in this season or was near perfect and that is me not just saying this is a fan who also joined in the petition online to renew this season, it was worth it and all these stress involved. Having said all these let me get down to what we enjoyed in this season .

 First the plot of this season is so good and well written that there is no break from the last season, it just flowed into this season and it got better as it went, we saw a lot of characters come into their own, the development of the characters just keeps getting better imagine saying that by the fourth season of a show that a characters arch had still not fully developed and it was just coming into a full circle, but this is exactly what happened for a lot of characters in this season of the show.
Let's just look at it using Chloe decker in this season she went through denial, resignation, acceptance , facing her fears and finally being abandoned. All these happened to one character in one season and she was not even the major character who the plot was built around.

 Cinematography was top knotch in this show, the angel wings, devil face, action sequences just to name but a few, whenever cgi was necessary it was properly and effectively used. It was not too much neither was it poorly put into use.

The script has to be applauded and thus the actors who brought the script to life we can't say enough about Tom Ellis who plays the role of Lucifer, having seen him play this role I can't imagine another actor playing the same role, he was perfect in every way, the weird humour, the smile, the voice, carriage, he was thoroughly enjoyed himself playing this role ,you won't be blamed if actually after watching this season you really feel that Tom Ellis is actually the devil he was that good in the role and the scene that showed his bare butts broke the internet it had fans male and female both say a lot of things most of which should not be said where kids are.

 The whole cast of the show were brilliant in their own way and there is not one person you can single out for a sub par performance in this show especially in this season of the show.

 Next was the final episode the concluding part of this season what a series finale, it was perfect in every way, it ended the conflict in this season and created more conflict for the next season already and it left us on a cliffhanger waiting for new on release date and stuffs like that.
 The producers of the show will really be licking their hands on the gem that they currently have. I just hope we get something better than this season and that will be asking a lot of them.

 Coming to what I did not really like about this season I really can't see what I did not enjoy about this season except the way eve was introduced and at the end of the day she was not even the person the prophecy was talking about that was still Chloe decker and it almost made the need for her character redundant but then the producers would argue that her presence was needed to further develop the arch between Lucifer and the detective that is Chloe but more would have been done with her character.

This show is rated a solid 8/ 10 for having delivered on a promise of a great season and cast. It's one that we can all enjoy that is the adult Audience.
