So in a world where we are still mourning the death of the man of steel, four new super heroes come out all claiming to be Superman reborn, which of them is real or what agenda do they have in mind to accomplish and in the midst of all these a whole new threat comes up in the absence of the man of steel and tries to destroy earth and heroes are needed to save the day.
So that was the plot of the movie and it was just a continuation of the death of Superman story. Basically we get an okay movie and that in itself was not bad but as a sequel to the death of Superman this is quite poor.
There is nothing much really wrong with this movie in itself but the fact that this is the second installment of the Superman story it felt like a real let down. There was so much hype and expectations coming with this movie, most of us felt that it was going to be better if not at least on par with the death of Superman, what a wrong assumption to have had because this movie was not even close to that at all.
Now on its own, this isn't a bad movie, we have seen a whole lot worse, aquaman the throne of Atlantis is still fresh in our memory we don't get me wrong this movie is not that level or bad but neither is it great and that therein lies the problem, it already had a great platform to build on and it failed to do so.
So still on what I did not like about the reign of the supermen, there are a lot of plot holes and inconsistencies with the storyline ,this was noticed also in death of Superman for emphasis let me talk about the Superman/ Lois lane love story, in the last justice league movie in the DC 52 movie we had the Superman and Wonder Woman love story which was quickly just switched up in the death of Superman no flashback , no explanation ,we were just meant to accept it.
The way that the justice league was just made to be irrelevant in this timeline and I get all the it was meant to be about the supermen but they would have done a better job of it than what we got.
It's not easy trying to get audiences to be hyped about something we already know the outcome but what the heck, how do you bring back Superman from the dead like that, it was so ordinary nothing exciting about that scene which should have been one of the best scenes in the movie if it was played right which it was not though.
Who please drew the characters, most of them were looking like the drawings of a five year old kid who was just having fun, steel, Superman himself (his coloring was off and it was obvious to anyone who looked closely) .What will it cost to take your time and get details right down to the last point be it a tilt in the nose or hairstyle.
Wow it almost seems like I did not enjoy anything about this movie but that is not true before I talk about what I loved just one last thing that was poor about the movie, we understand if the DCEU wants to deviate from the established story or plot we know in the comics it's way easier to swallow but when a Cartoon cannot also stick to the comic book story it's really not fun anymore.
And yes finally down to the good part of the movie let's start with the obvious which are the fight scenes, they are great no they are better than great and it really made up for most of the flaws that the movie has, the fight among all the supermen , the scene was great to watch just a lot of violence, collapsing of buildings, lot of force and it's accompanying sound, it was just brilliant.
Then yes superboy was all shades of brilliant in this movie, he was everything you wanted his character to be and so much more, I hope we get to see more of him in subsequent DC 52 movie series, it will be fun.
The Lois lane /Wonder Woman /superman triangle if played right subsequently has the elements to be quite a great intriguing plot line of a story all on its own.
So overall we had a good movie that could have gotten better ratings if it was not the sequel to the death of Superman and it's not fair to judge this movie based on that scale but that's exactly what we are all going to do.
So from us here at fca it's a solid 6/10 and I am recommending this movie to all audiences as this is a solid ending to the death of Superman movie.
