Another crime solving series but come to think of it don't we already have enough of these around. An average of one crime solving series is released a week ,that is really enough to understand why most people are no longer into this genre of TV shows they are simply everywhere you look literally.
Enough complaining already let me talk about this current show which I recently just finished the season one and funny enough looking forward to the next season which will be later in the year.
The show Carter is about Harley Carter a top actor in hollywood who suffers a very public meltdown which prompts him to retreat back to his small hometown in Ontario Canada, while trying to reconnect to his roots in the process, he wants to prove that he is more than just a pretty face but the townspeople can't seem to see past the TV star and not the man till he actually helps in solving a crime and gets made a special consultant to the local police by the mayor , which initially causes a lot of problems which he navigates as the season progresses.
The above is the plot of the movie and I won't waste time on this particular series it's really not worth the time and effort.
Seriously we are tired of police procedurals and their special consultant it's become stale and it no longer appeals to audiences. Is that the only story available to the script writers, you would think that one would actually be creative and tow a new line but no they all come back to the same thing .
In the series in view our hero is an actor in hollywood and he acts as a detective in the show in hollywood thus he uses his knowledge from the movies to tackle real life police cases what a story and it's so common among police procedural shows, I once watched one where the said consultant had extreme knowledge about dead bodies I was like could they really be less stupid.
This is also one of the reasons why police procedural are one of the most cancelled shows you ever come across,  audiences always loose interest after a few episodes and very few make it to the end of one season talk less more of a second season.
Besides the lame and predictable storyline the acting is one of the worst I have come across in a long while and I have seen quite some horrible acting but the acting by the cast in this series really is among the upper echelon of the worst I have come across.
How this TV show is getting a second season I totally have no idea but then again the network with the viewing rights to the series really dont have any other show lined up.
The show gets a good 5/10 from us here at FCA and that's being very generous , I hope season two comes up with something better or else I see a cancellation waiting to happen.
