JUST IN: RAMPAGE- KILL100 CIVILIANS IN 60 SECS (4 my Gamers, if you know you know).
Can you smell what The Rock is cooking people !? Except this time it's not as dangerously delicious as one would expect.
Back up back up, what are we talking about again? Yes, got it...it's RAMPAGE: 2018 people! Featuring global icon Dwayne Johnson as "Davies Okoye" (Oh yeah, that's your ibo boy right there) a primatologist, his phenomenal gorilla and bosom friend "George" (Jason Liles) with the twisted sense of humour (honestly don't know what it is with Hollywood and the sheer desire for "Apes" to always be d good guys; we saw it with "Cesar" in the "Planet of the Apes" movies, with "Kong" in "Skull island" and now here, but that's by the way and no more spoilers). Let's get to it then.
The movie opens up with a research facility in space belonging to the tech guru company "Wyden Robotics" with the heads of the company as "Claire Wyden" (Malin Akerman) and "Brett Wyden" (Jake Lacy), where "Dr. Kerry Atkins" (Marley Shelton)and her team were running illegal experiments on guinea pigs turned guinea giants as we would later find out. The project was tagged "Project Rampage"- they were developing a fast acting pathogen with the ability to enhance strength, growth, aggression, agility, speed up healing...you name them. Somehow as a result of some sort of outbreak the test subjects turned into giant rats there in space ,escaped and all hell broke loose. A few cannisters of the pathogen made their way back to Mother Earth and all hell broke loose here as well. Alright, that's enough for insights into the movie. Analysis time.
Plot; wasn't much there to offer, just your everyday straightforward delivery. No twists, no turns, no nothing. Just bland all through.
Cast; they brought in a few big guns to enliven matters, but it didn't help much either. I mean, what was Dr. Kate Caldwell "Naomi Harris" doing in the movie exactly, she just floated by and tagged along. I'll just call the movie another "career sidebar" for all actors involved. Don't see em winning any awards with this one.
Well, I'll give the movie some accolades for sure, with respect to the wreaking of havoc and level of destruction depicted therein. True to its title, it was one hell of a RAMPAGE!!! They got some serious BEASTS in this movie men, the effects too were plausible enough to keep you on your seat awhile.
Duration; was 25 mins or so too long, for a movie which just showcased demolition and action, nothing else.
Box Office: 425.9 million USD...Wow, that's something.

Don't know if Davies was here to perform a comedy show or something, he just tries too hard.
