UltraMan

Another Netflix anime in 2019, they really are not willing to take a break.
This is a 3DCG anime show which was released world wide on the 1st of April 2019, it's original network is Netflix, it's based on the comic of same name UltraMan.

Coming down to the anime itself, once upon a time in this world there was a being called the giant of light, whose mission was to bring peace to mankind and protect earth from alien invaders, thus after completing his mission he returns to his own planet and wipes of the memory of the one he used his body.
Now years later we meet shinjiro the son of ultraman who has inherited the genes of his father and thus has abilities which surpass that of a normal human, his father notices this and along the way he becomes the one who can succeed his father as ultra man.

By the end of the 13th episode which is the final episode, you either really like this anime or you don't there is no space for being undecided and therein lies the main issue with the anime. The anime as we know is a 3DCG which has its advantages and also it's flaws which was quite highlighted in this anime. I feel animes are better in 2D and not 3D, some will disagree but it's easier for stunts and graphics ,yes 3d has more camera angles and resolution but it just makes it look clumsy most of the time because it's almost reality but still not reality.

This very anime had a very good storyline and was well paced, the show picked up quite fast and that was how the show went for the entirety of the season,  it went straight to the point, there was no wasted episode or scene rather each scene played its part into the furthering of the plot and this was quite great to see, no unnecessary flashbacks or filler episode which is quite a relief. Each episode just went at a faster pace than the previous one and this raised the tension in the anime which is great.

Character development was okay especially for the main character shinjiro who the story really revolves around, we see him grow from the shy, tentative, boy who lacked confidence and belief in his own abilities to finally becoming who he was destined to become Ultraman,it was really done properly, you could literally feel his development as a character each episode that went by and after each trial or villian that he overcame.

Yes it's anime it has to have great action, awesome fight scenes, excellent stunt and graphic, the show did not disappoint in this aspect at all, and the fight scenes got better as the show progresses and it finally culminated in the last two episodes which was filled with breathtaking and mind blowing fight and stunts. It's not an episode to miss, I had to re-watch it again just to experience it once more.

My main issue with the anime is the monster's in the anime they look weird due to the anime being in 3DCG format and resolution, it could have been done better and I hope they do if there is a second season of this anime.

And again there is the feeling that this could have been a whole lot better notwithstanding that it was still great but it had all the elements to be way much better than it actually ended up being, but that simply means that there is a whole lot of space for improvement if and when there is a second season.

From us here at fca it's a solid 7/10 for its innovation and Creative concept

It's a tsuburaya production and production I. G

This is an original Netflix production
