Cloak and Dagger tells the story of two teenagers in love. It's a story about love , trust and friendship. Tandy Bowen and Tyra Johnson are not only in love, but their powers amazingly complement each other's. It is as much a love story as it is about discovery and learning about a new superpower(s).
The tvshow while relatively new offers a feeling of foreboding to Marvel fans who are worth their weight in gold. FCA is very critical of the supposed "most anticipated" Marvel show of the past two years.
Cloak and Dagger is based off the Marvel characters of the same name, and while a lot of people may not know, these are two characters who are very distrusting and suspicious of everything outside of the duo. Perhaps Marvel studios chose the wrong character development strategy by throwing in love from the get go? Or is marvel failing so hard at getting the story spot on by trying to over compensate for a lack of love and romance in previous Marvel tvshows?
Whatever may be the reason, it would have paid Marvel more to begin the origin of cloak and Dagger as it is in the comic, and not a lovey dovey affair we are getting. Believe me, cloak and Dagger as I know them are not ones for Love.
Oh my God, it's ABC again!!! After the travesty that is the Marvel's Inhumans, Marvel decided to allow ABC in on the act again to produce the show for FreeForm? With Pokasky in the driving seat? And two relatively unknown wildcard actors? While I am not one to shoot down casting young and new actors, I think you need a production outfit that can adequately manage and bring out the potential in such, like say Netflix?( they have done it, and are still doing it). ABC on the other hand has a way of Turning Promise into mediocrity( Supergirl and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D).
Whether this will be a yay or a nay tvshow remains to be seen, but from the look of things, we may have a calamitous conclusion delivered upon our high hopes.
